மரம் Trees

நிழல் தந்து வாரி அணைத்தேன்;
காய் கனி தந்து உன் பசி தீர்த்தேன்;
நீ உயிர் வாழ காற்றளித்து நான் வளர்ந்தேன்;
இன்று வேரோடு என்னை சாய்த்து கொண்டிருக்கிறாய்;
மறதி நோய் பிடித்த மனிதனே - என் மகனே -
மறக்காமல் என்னை வெட்டிய  பின் சில கட்டைகளை சேமித்து வை;
நாளை நீ இறந்தால் புதைக்கவோ இல்லை எரிக்கவோ நான் தேவை படலாம்..

i did spread shadow on your sunny days;
i bore fruits while you were with hungry face;
i produced oxygen for you to breath;
today you are uprooting me from surface beneath;
amnesiac human my dear son;
don't forget to save these logs after you cut me to pieces;
may help you at your funeral to burn you to ashes;
or to build your grave after all nothing is permanent we all are losers...
